Senior Exterior and Interior Design Engineer

At GULP – experts united, we're seeking a talented Senior Exterior and Interior Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you'll be responsible for developing innovative exterior and interior concepts for vehicles, taking into account design guidelines, customer requirements, and technical feasibility.

About the Role

  • Develop accurate 3D models and design drawings for vehicle parts and components, including bodywork, front and rear sections, interior trim, and controls.
  • Evaluate and select materials for exterior and interior components, considering aesthetic, functional, and cost aspects, and develop and test new materials for improved performance and quality.
  • Plan, build, and test prototypes for exterior and interior components to validate design concepts, ensure functionality, and comply with quality standards, collaborating with other departments and external suppliers.
  • Lead, implement, and monitor development projects for exterior and interior components, managing schedules, budgets, and resources, and working closely with various teams and stakeholders to achieve project goals.

Requirements

  • Degree in mechanical engineering, vehicle construction, or a comparable qualification.
  • Several years of professional experience in development and design, preferably with a focus on lighting concept, body concept, or design-technology convergence.
  • Knowledge of CATIA V5 and common CA systems.
  • Business fluent in German and English.
