Key Responsibilities

As a Field Service / Commissioning Engineer at Wärtsilä Deutschland, you will be responsible for the following key responsibilities:

  • Commissioning, repair, and warranty works in the areas of electrical power generation, power distribution, and electrical shore connection systems
  • System testing and analysis on equipment and systems on site
  • Testing and acceptance of installation
  • Supervision of sea trials
  • Training ship's crews
  • Presentation and hand over of equipment's systems to the ship owner, shipyard, and classification societies
  • Preparation of service/installation reports

To be successful in this role, you will need a Master's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant area, such as Electrical Engineering or Ships Operational Technology, and professional experience in the fields of power generation plants, control and converter technology, and medium-voltage systems.

You will also need to have knowledge in the field of customer service and ship operation, as well as structured and practical way of working with hands-on attitude. English language skills are essential, and willingness to travel frequently around the world is required.
