Service Engineer - Field Solutions Specialist

At Wärtsilä, we are seeking a highly skilled Service Engineer - Field Solutions Specialist to join our team in Hamburg, Germany. As a Service Engineer - Field Solutions Specialist, you will be responsible for providing expert technical support to our customers in the field of electrical power generation and distribution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repair, maintenance, and warranty works in the areas of electrical power generation, power distribution, hybrid technology, and electric drive systems
  • System testing and analysis on equipment and systems on site
  • Testing and acceptance of installation as well as the necessary adjustments
  • Supervision of sea trials, training of ship's crews
  • Presentation and handover of equipment's systems to the ship owner, shipyard, and the classification societies
  • Preparation of service/installation reports as well as feedback on technical content/changes to involved departments
  • Support and guidance of remote commissioning for other departments of the group

Requirements:

  • Masters or Bachelor's degree in a relevant area (Electrical Engineering or Ships Operational Technology), or equivalent
  • Professional experience, especially in the fields of power generation plants, control and converter technology, medium-voltage systems appreciated
  • Knowledge in the field of customer service and ship operation appreciated
  • SPS skills are desirable
  • Structured and practical way of working with hands-on attitude
  • English language (written and spoken)
  • Willingness to travel frequently around the world
