About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Agronomic Modeler to join our team at actcon GmbH. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing state-of-the-art models for agricultural, environmental, and biological processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement advanced models for crop health management, including pests, diseases, and weeds.
- Embed these models into decision support systems for farmers and advisors, enhancing field-specific decision logics.
- Drive the global model development, validation, and calibration pipeline automation, training the modeler team.
- Align with agronomy experts and developers worldwide to define development and modeling capabilities.
- Define data needs for model development and validation trials, monitoring and ensuring in-season model performance.
Requirements
- PhD or master's degree with a proven professional track record.
- Profound experience in model development with programming language Python (Java is a plus).
- Knowledge in phytopathology desirable.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
