Job Title: Access and Safety Officer - National Position

Malteser International is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Access and Safety Officer to join our team in Maiduguri, Nigeria. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all MI staff, assets, and programs within the country.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive security plans and risk assessments to mitigate potential threats.
  • Conduct regular security briefings and training sessions for staff to ensure they are aware of potential risks and how to respond.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with local authorities, including the government, military, and police, to ensure access to program areas.
  • Monitor and analyze security trends and incidents to identify potential threats and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Collaborate with the Country Coordinator and Senior Management Team to ensure that security protocols are in place and followed.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in a field related to safety and security or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in safety and security with INGOs in Nigeria.
  • Strong assessment, evaluation, reporting, and analysis skills.
  • Technical competency and training experience in field-based communication systems.
  • Existing networks with influential actors in the Northwest, Northeast, and South-South states of Nigeria.
  • IT literate, MS – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Outlook.
What We Offer:
  • Start Date: August 2024
  • Duty Station: Maiduguri, Borno State (With frequent travels to field locations on a need basis)
  • Duration of contract: Up till December with the possibility of renewal
  • Salary expectation: Salary according to qualification and experience, insurance package.
