CureVac is a global biopharmaceutical company specializing in mRNA technology, with over 20 years of experience researching, developing, and optimizing this versatile biological molecule for medical applications. Our focus lies in prophylactic vaccines, innovative cancer immunotherapies, and protein-based therapies. We strive to bring multiple best-in-class mRNA medicines to market.
We are seeking a talented Data Architect to join our team in Tübingen near Stuttgart, Wiesbaden, Amsterdam or Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve.
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop impactful strategic plans to enhance data integration, quality, and delivery, supporting CureVac initiatives and roadmaps.
- Collaborate with teams to design the structure and layout of data systems, including databases, warehouses, and lakes.
- Select and implement database management systems that meet organizational needs by defining data schemas, optimizing data storage, and establishing data access controls and security measures.
- Translate high-level business requirements into data models, appropriate metadata, test data, and data quality standards.
- Manage senior business stakeholders to ensure strong engagement and alignment of project delivery with long-term strategic roadmaps.
- Simplify the existing data architecture, delivering reusable services and cost-saving opportunities in line with company policies and standards.
- Lead and participate in peer review and quality assurance of project architectural artifacts across the group's Enterprise Architecture through governance forums.
- Define and manage standards, guidelines, and processes to ensure data quality.
- Guide solution design and architecture to meet business needs.
Your Qualifications:
- University degree in computer science, data science, engineering, a related field, or an equivalent qualification.
- Experience in designing and implementing data models for enterprise data warehouse initiatives.
- Proven track record in leading projects involving data warehousing, data modeling, and data analysis.
- Proficiency in the design and implementation of modern data architectures and concepts such as cloud services (Azure, GCP), real-time data distribution, and modern data warehouse tools.
- Ability to think strategically and relate architectural decisions and recommendations to business needs and client culture.
- Willingness to regularly learn and adopt new technology, especially in the ML/AI realm.
- Capability to synthesize and clearly communicate large volumes of complex information to senior management with varying technical understandings.
- Capacity to collaborate and excel in complex, cross-functional teams involving data scientists, business analysts, and stakeholders.
- Fluency in English; German skills are a plus.
