Accounting Policy Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Policy Manager to join our team at adidas. As a key member of our Group Finance team, you will be responsible for driving compliance with global policies and standards, ensuring that our accounting practices are up-to-date and aligned with international best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Policy Implementation: Manage and drive the implementation of new and revised International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) across the organization.
- Policy Coordination: Coordinate with individual policy owners to ensure that policy updates, communication, and training are effectively implemented.
- Policy Administration: Administer and maintain the IFRS Accounting SharePoint, ensuring that all relevant policies and procedures are up-to-date and easily accessible.
- Accounting Advisory: Provide expert advice on accounting matters to other finance departments and internal stakeholders, ensuring that they are aware of and compliant with relevant policies and procedures.
- Support to Financial Reporting: Support the preparation of selected notes to the consolidated financial statements of adidas AG, ensuring that all relevant information is accurately and timely reported.
- Audit and Compliance: Act as a contact person for group auditors and support the process for determining the global group audit scope and budget, as well as monitoring non-audit services provided by external auditors.
- Internal Representation: Manage and coordinate the semi-annual global internal representation letter process, ensuring that all relevant stakeholders are informed and engaged.
- Accounting Community: Organize and host quarterly internal Accounting Community Calls, fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing across the organization.
- Project Management: Manage and lead other Corporate Accounting initiatives and projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time and to a high standard.
Key Relationships:
- Corporate Functions: Collaborate with Corporate Functions and local Finance teams on accounting and policy-related questions.
- Global Accounting Community: Interact with the global internal accounting community, including Global Business Services (GBS).
- Policy Owners: Work closely with policy owners from different Corporate Functions, mainly within Finance.
- External Auditors: Interact with external group auditors to ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Education: Degree in Business Administration from a university or comparable institution with a focus on Finance, Audit, or Accounting.
- Experience: Minimum of 4+ years of relevant professional work experience in accounting or external audit.
- Skills: Excellent knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and related literature; strong organizational, project management, and time management skills; good interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills; and comprehensive understanding of accounting-related business processes.
