Group Finance Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Policy Manager to join our team at adidas. As a key member of our Group Finance team, you will be responsible for driving compliance with global policies and standards, ensuring that our accounting practices are up-to-date and aligned with international best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Policy Implementation: Manage and drive the implementation of new and revised International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) across the organization.
- Policy Coordination: Coordinate with individual policy owners to ensure that policy updates, communication, and training are effectively implemented.
- Policy Administration: Administer and maintain the IFRS Accounting SharePoint, ensuring that all relevant policies and procedures are up-to-date and accessible to all stakeholders.
- Accounting Advisory: Provide expert advice on accounting matters to other finance departments and internal stakeholders, ensuring that all accounting-related questions are addressed in a timely and effective manner.
- Support to Financial Reporting: Support the preparation of selected notes to the consolidated financial statements of adidas AG, ensuring that all financial reporting requirements are met.
- Audit and Compliance: Act as a contact person for group auditors and support the process for determining the global group audit scope and budget, as well as monitoring non-audit services provided by external auditors.
- Internal Representation: Manage and coordinate the semi-annual global internal representation letter process, ensuring that all necessary documentation is completed and submitted on time.
- Accounting Community: Organize and host quarterly internal Accounting Community Calls, providing a platform for accounting professionals to share knowledge and best practices.
Key Relationships:
- Corporate Functions: Collaborate with corporate functions and local finance teams on accounting and policy-related questions.
- Global Accounting Community: Interact with the global internal accounting community, including Global Business Services (GBS).
- Policy Owners: Work closely with policy owners from different corporate functions, mainly within finance.
- External Auditors: Interact with external group auditors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- Education: Degree in Business Administration from a university or comparable institution with a focus on finance, audit, or accounting.
- Experience: Minimum of 4+ years of relevant professional work experience in accounting or external audit.
- Skills: Analytical mindset, excellent knowledge of IFRS, strong organizational and project management skills, good interpersonal and communication skills, and proficiency in MS Office and SharePoint.
