Job Description

As a key member of the Green Hydrogen Research & Development department at thyssenkrupp nucera, you will play a crucial role in driving innovation and excellence in the field of alkaline water electrolysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership to a team of approximately ten employees, supporting the director of department in developing new, innovative, and cost-effective solutions for the next generation alkaline water electrolysis platform.
  • Plan, coordinate, monitor, and support all activities within the group, implementing agile and innovative approaches to increase quality and efficiency.
  • Coordinate interfaces with other groups involved in development, ensuring seamless collaboration and communication.
  • Ensure high-quality development and qualification of employees, meeting required benchmarks for quality, deadlines, and costs.
  • Manage R&D budget application, controlling, and support the head of department in planning and adherence to the budget.
  • Coordinate quality management and HSE tasks, evaluating improvement proposals and reviewing group-specific work instructions.
  • Transfer development results or improvements to product qualification for serial production.
  • Support the director of department in personnel resource and vacation planning, as well as extended responsibility in employee reviews and performance appraisals.
Requirements
  • University degree in process or design engineering, with a strong background in electrolysis.
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in engineering of chemical plants and the field of alkaline water electrolysis or Chlor-Alkali technology.
  • Deep understanding of engineering processes, working methods, costing, planning, and interface management.
  • Excellent management skills, mastery of complex interfaces, efficient delegation of tasks, and monitoring of results.
  • Business-fluent English skills and good consulting and coaching skills, with the ability to offer staff support in conceptual issues and training employees and promoting talent.
  • Good analytical skills, merging of solutions, elaboration of concepts, and development of alternative solutions.
  • Intercultural awareness and willingness to travel inside Germany and internationally on a regular basis.
