Within the ZEISS Microoptics division, we optimize glass and transparent plastic surfaces based on a patent-protected IP platform using different micro-optical structures and holographic optical elements, enabling the integration and combination of various functionalities such as illumination, projection, filtering, and detection.

**Your Role**

In this position, it is your responsibility to develop, refine, lead, and execute go-to-market and business strategies to grow as the sole supplier of comprehensive holographic solutions as a market-shaping technology. Your key tasks include:

  • Scaling the business towards significant size and securing a substantial part of the value chain
  • Developing, supporting, and consulting key customers, as well as identifying, developing, and managing partnerships with customers, research and development partners, and suppliers
  • Creating product roadmaps and proposing product developments for automotive, consumer, home technology, and beyond (including deriving technology requirements)
  • Analyzing trends; screening, identifying, and initially assessing the competitive environment
  • End-to-end planning and leading negotiations ranging from IP to full-spectrum complex partnership contracts
  • Building and expanding the business development team for a fast-growing business that will grow to a revenue of several hundred million euros, with a strong focus on leadership and people development
  • Contributing to the ZEISS brand value by promoting this impressive technology

**Your Profile**

You should have several years of verified professional experience as a leadership professional in business development, corporate development, ramping up dynamic, intercultural teams in small and medium-sized companies.

An educational background in the field of economics, engineering, or natural sciences is required.

You should have the ability and willingness to dive deep into the tech stack of advanced optics, holography technology, and engineering to make high-quality managerial decisions.

Exposure to industry dynamics and technologies, especially in automotive, but also home technology and consumer electronics, is essential.

You should possess an executive management toolkit and experiences to deliver business results and tangible value creation for a business in a build-up phase.

A strong commercial and customer-oriented mindset, bringing our solutions and products to existing and new customers, is crucial.

Tactical and execution ability for complex negotiations in supplier, OEM context, is required.

A 'hands-on-attitude', structured, goal-oriented, and interdisciplinary way of working, and a drive to assign and complete basic tasks yourself with analytical rigor, are essential.

Very good knowledge of German and English (business fluent) and a willingness to travel abroad are necessary.
