Research and Analysis
- Conduct comparative research on conservation areas in the Bolivian Amazon, analyzing existing tools for collaboration and developing a typology of interactions between conservation implementers and communities.
- Map and analyze existing tools to promote collaboration in conservation areas, identifying best practices and areas for improvement.
Facilitation and Coordination
- Facilitate Science-Policy Dialogues in La Paz, presenting research findings and engaging with key stakeholders.
- Coordinate logistical arrangements for Science-Policy Dialogues, ensuring the participation of key stakeholders and facilitating effective dialogue.
Reporting and Dissemination
- Prepare and submit reports detailing the mapping of dialogue spaces, comparative case studies, and findings from Science-Policy Dialogues.
- Disseminate research findings through presentations and other appropriate channels, highlighting key takeaways and recommendations.
Supervision and Reporting
- Report to the project's Principal Investigator, collaborating with CIFOR-ICRAF's team, including other consultants, to ensure alignment with project objectives and timelines.
- Ensure regular check-ins with the project team, monitoring progress and addressing any challenges or concerns.
Requirements: Postgraduate degree in Anthropology, Geography, Sociology, or a related field. Proven experience in research, particularly within conservation and Indigenous/community relations in the Amazon. Experience with qualitative research methods, knowledge of Q-methodology a plus. Familiarity with conservation policy and legal frameworks in Latin America, especially in Bolivia. Proven experience in organizing and facilitating dialogues or workshops with diverse stakeholders.
