Job Title: Senior Originator

E.ON Energy Markets GmbH is a leading player in the European energy market, and we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Originator to join our team.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced professional to further grow E.ON's sourcing activities and value contribution through physical or financial commodity transactions of a complex and non-standard nature. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of option pricing theories and tools, as well as experience in developing pricing tools for market-based valuation of flexible power offtakes, gas storages, cross-border capacities, and other physical energy assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, structure, and capture commercial opportunities in existing and new markets for E.ON in a variety of energy commodities (electricity, gas, renewables, and cross-commodities)
  • Develop and execute hedging and risk mitigation strategies for positions stemming from origination transactions
  • Work closely with E.ON's portfolio management and front office departments (central and regional) to preserve and grow the value of our portfolio under management
  • Analyze markets, identify commercial opportunities, and develop sound origination strategies
  • Contribute to E.ON's earnings target by delivering on/above budget
Requirements
  • University degree in economics, econometrics, finance, physics, or engineering
  • Strong technical and quantitative skills
  • Excellent understanding of option pricing theories and tools
  • Able to develop pricing tools for market-based valuation of flexible power offtakes, gas storages, cross-border capacities, and other physical energy assets
  • Highly entrepreneurial individual with proven track record in PnL contribution and in the successful conclusion of complex commodity transactions
  • Deep understanding of financial and physical energy markets (futures, forwards, and exchanges)
