Job Overview

The following outlines the anticipated responsibilities and tasks for this position:

  • Conduct RF-Compatibility Tests and Internet of Things (IoT) activities.
  • Maintain and update Interface Requirements Documents and Interface Control Documents for RF Subsystems and IoT testing tools.
  • Lead and coordinate the upkeep of RF Subsystems and RF IoT tools, reviewing relevant technical documentation to ensure all RF testing equipment is calibrated throughout the testing phase.

Required Qualifications

Essential skills include:

  • A university degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering or scientific field such as telecommunications, electronics, or radio frequency.
  • Demonstrated experience in ground station operations (TT&C and Mission Data Acquisition) within a real-time 24/7 spacecraft operational setting, preferably in Earth Observation.
  • Proficiency in RF testing of space-to-ground interfaces at both satellite and ground station levels.
  • Knowledge of RF design pertaining to space-to-ground interfaces at satellite and ground station levels.
  • Expertise in Ka-band link design or testing methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, synthesis, and presentation capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and reporting skills, with the ability to engage effectively within a team and across multiple teams in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Capacity to learn and acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to support service operations, including the ability to quickly understand and utilize information from written and verbal communications in a dynamic setting.
  • A systematic approach to tasks.
  • Strong planning abilities and the capability to manage tight schedules and multiple responsibilities.
  • Effectiveness under pressure and the ability to handle complex tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in producing accurate, concise, and coherent technical documentation and reports.

Additional Preferred Skills

  • Experience with major upgrades or evolutions of operational ground stations.
  • Knowledge in defining and implementing verification and validation processes for ground stations.
  • Experience in defining, verifying, and validating interfaces between ground stations and ground segments.
  • Skills in diagnosing and rectifying first-line hardware and software failures in ground stations.
  • Experience in preparing requirements, design specifications, interfaces, and testing documentation.
  • Familiarity with document management and configuration control processes.
  • Experience in defining user interfaces for operations (HMI, reports, etc.).
  • Understanding of relevant technical standards (ECSS, CCSDS).
  • Knowledge of baseband operation and configuration.
  • Experience with Dataminer, monitoring, and control tools.
  • Familiarity with Space Link Extension (SLE) operation and/or configuration.
