Job Overview

The following outlines the anticipated responsibilities and tasks:

  • Conduct RF-Compatibility assessments and Internet of Things (IoT) initiatives.
  • Maintain and update Interface Requirements Documents and Interface Control Documents for RF Subsystems and IoT testing tools.
  • Lead and coordinate the upkeep of RF Subsystems and RF IoT tools, reviewing pertinent technical documentation. Ensure that all RF testing equipment is calibrated throughout the testing period.

Required Qualifications

Essential skills include:

  • A university degree (or equivalent) in an engineering or scientific field relevant to the position (such as telecommunications, electronics, or radio frequency).
  • Demonstrated experience in ground station operations (TT&C and Mission Data Acquisition) within a real-time 24/7 spacecraft operations setting, preferably in Earth Observation.
  • Experience in RF testing of space-to-ground interfaces at both satellite and ground station levels.
  • Knowledge of RF design related to space-to-ground interfaces at satellite and ground station levels.
  • Proficiency in Ka-band link design or testing.
  • Strong analytical, synthesis, and presentation capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and reporting skills, with the ability to engage effectively within a team and across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Capacity to learn and develop the necessary skills and knowledge to support service operations, including the ability to quickly assimilate and utilize information presented in various formats.
  • A systematic approach to tasks.
  • Strong planning abilities and the capacity to manage tight deadlines and multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure and manage complex tasks with minimal oversight.
  • Skill in producing precise, concise, and coherent technical documentation and reports.

  • Experience with major upgrades or enhancements of operational ground stations.
  • Development and execution of verification and validation processes for ground stations.
  • Definition, verification, and validation of interfaces between ground stations and ground segments.
  • Troubleshooting and rectifying initial hardware and software failures in ground stations.
  • Preparation of requirements, design specifications, interface definitions, and testing documentation.
  • Familiarity with document management and configuration control procedures.
  • Development of user interfaces for operational purposes (HMI, reports, etc.).
  • Knowledge of relevant technical standards (ECSS, CCSDS).
  • Baseband operation and configuration expertise.
  • Experience with Dataminer, monitoring, and control tools.
  • Knowledge of Space Link Extension (SLE) operations and configurations.
