Job Overview

The following outlines the anticipated responsibilities and tasks associated with this position:

  • Conducting RF compatibility assessments and Internet of Things (IoT) initiatives.
  • Managing and updating Interface Requirements Documents and Interface Control Documents for RF Subsystems and IoT testing tools.
  • Leading the upkeep and coordination of RF Subsystems and RF IoT tools, along with reviewing pertinent technical documentation. Ensuring all relevant RF testing apparatus is calibrated throughout the designated testing period.

Required Qualifications

Essential skills include:

  • A university degree (or equivalent) in an engineering or scientific field pertinent to the role (telecommunications, electronics, radio frequency, or similar).
  • Demonstrated experience in ground station operations (TT&C and Mission Data Acquisition) within a real-time 24/7 spacecraft operational setting, preferably in Earth Observation.
  • Proficiency in RF testing for space-to-ground connections at both satellite and ground station levels.
  • Knowledge of RF design concerning space-to-ground interfaces at satellite and ground station levels.
  • Expertise in Ka-band link design or testing.
  • Strong analytical, synthesis, and presentation capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and reporting skills, with the ability to apply these in team interactions and across multidisciplinary environments.
  • Capacity to acquire and develop the necessary skills and knowledge to support service operations, including the ability to quickly assimilate and utilize information presented in both written and verbal formats in a dynamic setting.
  • A systematic approach to tasks.
  • Competence in planning and managing tight schedules and multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure and manage complex assignments with minimal oversight.
  • Skill in producing precise, concise, focused, and consistent technical documentation and reports.

Additional Skills (considered as a plus):

  • Experience with major upgrades or enhancements of operational ground stations.
  • Involvement in defining and implementing verification and validation processes for ground stations.
  • Experience in defining, verifying, and validating interfaces between ground stations and ground segments.
  • Ability to diagnose and rectify first-line hardware and software issues in ground stations.
  • Preparation of requirements, design specifications, interfaces, and testing documentation.
  • Familiarity with document management and configuration control procedures.
  • Development of user interfaces for operational tasks (HMI, reports, etc.).
  • Knowledge of relevant technical standards (ECSS, CCSDS).
  • Experience with baseband operations and configurations.
  • Proficiency in data monitoring and control tools.
  • Experience with Space Link Extension (SLE) operations and configurations.
