Senior Mechanical Engineer for International Hydropower Projects

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Fichtner GmbH & Co. KG. As a key member of our international hydropower team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice to clients worldwide on electromechanical and mechanical engineering aspects of hydropower plants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct feasibility studies and detail engineering for hydropower projects
  • Prepare conceptual designs, studies, plans, and project documentation
  • Conduct surveys, inspections, and assessments of facilities in due diligence and rehabilitation projects for existing hydropower plants
  • Compile tender dossiers, technical specifications, and contract documents
  • Review documents of contractors and suppliers
  • Participate in on-site tests and supervise the installation and commissioning of equipment and systems for hydropower plants
Requirements
  • University degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
  • Extensive professional experience in power plant engineering, preferably specializing in hydropower projects
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Proficiency in German and English, with additional language skills an advantage
  • Willingness to travel for projects (approximately 20-25% of the time)
