Join Our Team as a Senior Game Designer
We are seeking a talented Game Designer to become a vital part of our innovative team. In this role, you will have the chance to shape the fundamental gameplay experience for a platform that could engage millions of players. Your responsibilities will include crafting first-party games and enhancing various experiences on Soba. Moreover, your contributions will significantly impact Soba's social functionalities and other essential components of the platform.
As a member of our small yet highly skilled team, you will enjoy a high degree of responsibility and the opportunity to influence both our product direction and our workplace culture. You will take ownership of significant features from the initial planning stages through to design and implementation, participating in all phases of the software development lifecycle while tackling complex technical challenges.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop first-party games utilizing Soba's tools, collaborating with team members as necessary.
- Collaborate with the Product and Design teams to enhance various aspects of the gaming experience.
- Engage with third-party developers to assist them in creating games for Soba's portfolio.
- Provide insights for the roadmap of Soba's creation tools.
- Enhance the quality of user-generated games on the platform.
- Formulate strategies for Soba's first-party game portfolio, including genres and styles.
- Contribute innovative ideas to improve player experiences across all facets of the product.
- Actively respond to feedback derived from user metrics and insights.
- Proven experience and a deep understanding of diverse game mechanics across multiple genres.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work autonomously.
- Resourcefulness and a strong capability to implement gameplay using tools developed by engineers or independently.
- Logical thinking with meticulous attention to detail.
- A genuine passion for game development and play; curiosity about the factors that lead to the success or failure of games.
- Experience in developing social mechanics in games or similar products is highly advantageous.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Openly share information and collaborate with team members.
- Seek constructive feedback from users and colleagues, consistently striving for personal and professional growth.
- A strong focus on delivering results.
- 5+ years of professional experience in game design.
- Experience in bringing games from concept to launch.
- Familiarity with agile, fast-iterating product teams is a plus.
- Eligibility to work in Germany is required, as visa sponsorship is not available at this time.
- A flexible work-from-home policy, with a requirement for presence in Berlin.
