Your Responsibilities
- Discover and evaluate promising business development prospects within the ophthalmic sector across the EMEA region, focusing on areas such as distribution, in-licensing, mergers and acquisitions, and out-licensing.
- Engage with cross-functional teams, including R&D, regulatory affairs, market access, and marketing, to analyze opportunities from scientific, regulatory, and commercial viewpoints. This includes crafting commercial forecasts and developing business cases.
- Maintain systematic records and track business development activities and interactions with external partners.
- Lead and assist in cross-departmental projects and due diligence efforts in EMEA, emphasizing effective project management and teamwork.
- Prepare comprehensive business cases for Santen's management and advocate for business development initiatives through relevant decision-making bodies.
- Conduct regular market scouting and represent Santen Business Development at licensing conferences throughout the EMEA region.
- Assist the Head of EMEA with business development and special projects, support alliance managers in asset integration, and nurture relationships with global, Asian, and US business development organizations as well as EMEA functions.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Life Sciences (Medical, Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Healthcare) or Business.
- Over 5 years of international experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector within Europe.
- At least 3 years of progressive experience in Business Development, Project Management, or Financial Control.
- Experience in Brand Leadership or similar customer service roles within the healthcare industry.
- Familiarity with drug development and/or pharmaceutical marketing and market access.
- Proficiency in English and potentially another European language.
- Data-driven mindset with a focus on delivery.
- Strong analytical and innovative problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication abilities.
