Job Description

Luminary Group is seeking an experienced and visionary leader to drive our client's software development efforts in the field of Real World Evidence (RWE). As the Head of Software, you will be responsible for driving the technical direction, strategy, and execution of high-quality software solutions that leverage RWE data to drive insights and decision-making in the healthcare industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of software engineers, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback.
  • Software Development Strategy: Define and execute the software development strategy and roadmap, aligning with the company's overall goals and objectives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Software Development and Maintenance: Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of software applications and systems that leverage RWE data.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality, scalability, and performance of software solutions through effective development practices and testing methodologies.
  • Emerging Technologies: Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices, and drive their adoption within the organization.
  • Project Management: Prioritize and manage software development projects, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
  • Software Development Standards: Establish and enforce software development standards, documentation, and coding best practices.
  • Troubleshooting and Resolution: Collaborate with stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and challenges.
  • Vendor and Partner Management: Manage relationships with vendors, partners, and external service providers to ensure seamless integration and delivery of software solutions.
  • Industry Trends and Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes related to software development and RWE.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in software development, with a focus on developing solutions in the healthcare industry.
  • Leadership Experience: Proven track record of leading and managing software engineering teams in agile development environments.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, technologies, and best practices.
  • RWE Data Experience: Experience with RWE data and familiarity with healthcare data standards.
  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C#, or Python.
  • Web Application Development: Experience with web application development frameworks and technologies (e.g., Angular, React, Node.js).
  • Cloud-Based Platforms: Experience with cloud-based platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure) is preferred.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to find creative solutions to complex technical challenges.
  • Communication and Leadership Skills: Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to Thrive in a Fast-Paced Environment: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage competing priorities.
  • Healthcare Industry Experience: Experience in the healthcare industry and knowledge of regulatory considerations in software development is a MUST.
  • Authorization to Work: Authorization to work in the United States.
  • Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel as required.
