Key ResponsibilitiesRole Overview
As a Lead Data Solutions Engineer, you will take charge of designing, implementing, and maintaining our data pipelines, data repositories, and data processing frameworks. You will collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, backend engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the availability, accuracy, and reliability of our data. Your expertise in data engineering and best practices will be vital in enhancing performance and facilitating our ambitious AI initiatives.
Main Duties:
- Design, develop, and sustain scalable ETL/ELT processes to ingest, cleanse, and transform data from diverse sources.
- Construct and manage data warehouses, data lakes, and other data storage solutions.
- Optimize and oversee data pipelines to guarantee efficient and reliable data processing.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to comprehend data requirements and deliver high-quality data solutions.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, and engage in code reviews and pair programming sessions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues promptly.
- Stay informed about emerging trends and technologies in data engineering and apply them to enhance our systems.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of practical experience in data engineering or a related role.
- Strong expertise in automation/orchestration tools (e.g., Prefect, Kubeflow, Airflow, Dagster, Dataform).
- Proficient in SQL and experienced with database management systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redshift).
- Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., BigQuery, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka).
- Proficient in Python.
- Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud services (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure).
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong communication skills and the capacity to articulate technical concepts.
- Experience in data science and machine learning is a plus.
- Experience with geographic processing (GDAL, QGIS, PostGIS, CityDB) is a plus.
