Your Role - Data Engineer - Sports Analytics

As a Data Engineer within our Sports Analytics team, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and infrastructure. You will work closely with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure the seamless flow of data and enable informed decision-making.

  • Data Pipeline Development: Design, implement, and optimize data pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and processing large volumes of sports-related data from various sources.
  • Analytics Platform Engineering: Build and maintain containerized analytics platforms that leverage cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) or on-premise big data solutions (Hadoop, Kafka).
  • Business Requirement Implementation: Translate business requirements into technical solutions using analytics services and tools provided by leading cloud providers or established big data technologies.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in cloud computing, software engineering, and data analytics to deliver cutting-edge solutions.

Your Skills - What You Bring

  • Passion for Data: A genuine enthusiasm for working with data and a desire to explore its potential in the sports industry.
  • Technical Expertise: Proven experience (3+ years) with cloud analytics ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) or big data technologies (Hadoop, Kafka).
  • Software Development Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Scala, or Python, along with experience in build tools and CI/CD pipelines (Maven, Sbt, Git, Gradle).
  • Cloud Strategy Understanding: Familiarity with cloud computing models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and infrastructure as code (IaC) technologies (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet).
  • Project Experience: A track record of successfully delivering data-driven projects, ideally within the sports domain.
