The Role
As the Director of Marketing Strategy, you will oversee the global marketing function for Choco. This position is responsible for crafting, implementing, and managing a comprehensive marketing strategy aimed at enhancing brand awareness, generating leads, acquiring customers, and driving revenue growth across various regions. You will lead a diverse team, including our strong PR & Events unit, manage multichannel campaigns, and collaborate closely with Sales, Product, Customer Success, and the executive team to ensure alignment and success.
Strategic Planning:
Develop and execute a global marketing strategy that aligns with Choco's business objectives. Define and manage the marketing budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation to maximize ROI. Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs within the food distribution sector to inform strategic decisions.Digital Marketing:
Utilize data and analytics to continuously test, measure, and refine the optimal channel mix for growth and ROI. Implement data-driven marketing strategies to enhance the performance of digital channels.Lead Generation & Customer Acquisition:
Develop and implement region-specific lead generation strategies to drive qualified leads into the sales pipeline. Collaborate with Sales and Product teams to create compelling value propositions and marketing materials tailored to food distributors. Utilize marketing automation and CRM tools to track, nurture, and convert leads.PR & Events:
Work with the Head of Global Branding and PR to develop and manage the company's PR strategy to enhance brand reputation and visibility within the food distribution industry. Collaborate with the Head of Global Branding and PR to plan and execute industry events, webinars, trade shows, and conferences focused on food distribution to generate leads and build brand presence.Product Marketing:
Lead the go-to-market strategy for new and existing products, including market analysis, competitive positioning, acquisition, and adoption strategies, as well as communication planning. Drive the execution of product launches in collaboration with the Product organization, overseeing asset development and implementation across various touchpoints.Team Leadership:
Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing marketing team of in-house professionals and freelancers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.Who You Are
Bachelor’s degree (preferably Master's) in marketing, media, communications, or related fields. 7–10 years of proven experience in B2B marketing, ideally including experience in niche industries. 3+ years of leadership experience with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve common goals. Excellent analytical skills and a results-driven mindset, with the ability to quantify performance and optimize results effectively. Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities and market conditions. Experience and knowledge of international markets, particularly the US, is a plus.Choco was founded in Berlin and has since grown to a team of over 400 dedicated individuals working from various locations. Our ordering app is utilized by numerous buyers and suppliers globally, processing substantial amounts of food each month.
