Position Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer with a focus on Rust, you will play a crucial role in a team of talented engineers committed to developing and sustaining high-performance software for cryptocurrency nodes. Your main responsibility will involve enhancing and integrating new modules crafted in Rust, which encompass various components such as database interfaces, networking frameworks, and RESTful APIs. This is a remarkable chance to be part of the foundational technology behind our cutting-edge cryptocurrency platform.

Key Responsibilities & Qualifications
  • Design and maintain robust cryptocurrency node software components and their specifications.
  • Take charge of intricate projects, including the architecture and execution of congestion control mechanisms utilizing a dual token system, a pioneering DAG-based consensus model, or a responsive transaction processing framework.
  • Lead these projects to fruition by collaborating effectively with diverse teams, including Research Scientists, Software Engineers, and DevOps professionals.
  • Adapt and excel in a fast-paced environment where your contributions may shift rapidly based on user insights and feedback from the developer community.
  • Promote a transparent and inclusive work culture, actively engaging with the IOTA community through platforms like GitHub, Discord, and industry conferences.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of technical solutions while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
  • Serve as a mentor for peers within our internal Rust training initiative.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years in software engineering.
  • At least 3 years of experience with Rust programming.
  • Fundamental understanding of cryptographic concepts (hashing, digital signatures, certificates, PKI) and their appropriate applications.
  • Familiarity with database technologies (key-value storage systems, e.g., RocksDB).
  • Expertise in networking protocols and frameworks (e.g., libp2p, TCP, QUIC).
  • Experience in designing and implementing RESTful APIs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in blockchain and distributed ledger technologies.
  • Experience in cybersecurity and secure software development practices.
