Risk Management Trainee

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our Risk Management team as a Trainee. As a Risk Management Trainee, you will have the opportunity to work with our experienced team to develop and implement risk management strategies that drive business growth and minimize risk.
About the RoleAs a Risk Management Trainee, you will be responsible for:
- Developing a deep understanding of Uniper's business, its value drivers, and the business environment
- Learning from and collaborating with experts from many different fields, contributing your ideas and working on your own projects with various stakeholders
- Starting in the Quantitative Methods function within the Risk department and rotating flexibly upon your individual career development path
- Helping to develop state-of-the-art valuation, risk management, and optimization models, and implementing them as software solutions into our systems infrastructure and processes
- Assisting in ensuring the effective use of these models and analytics within the organization to enable commercial functions to manage financial risks (market, credit, liquidity, weather), to contribute to the origination of new business, and to support and enhance risk management
- Understanding front-to-end business processes, and working effectively and collaboratively across the organization to deliver solutions
We are looking for a talented and motivated individual who:
- Has successfully completed studies with a focus on mathematics, physics, or a related field
- Has ideally first practical experience gained through internships and/or working student activities
- Has curiosity and openness to working in an international environment
- Has intercultural experience, ideally with experience abroad
- Has a sense of responsibility, proactivity, and advanced interpersonal communication skills, as well as a drive for continuous improvement with a hands-on mentality
- Has familiarity with common numerical methods, probability theory, and ideally also stochastic calculus
- Has first experience in implementing numerical calculations of stochastic or other complex mathematical models in a modern programming language
- Has fluency in both written and spoken English, with German language skills a plus
