Elementary Student Learning Specialist

Position Overview
Frankfurt International School is seeking two dedicated Elementary School Student Learning Coaches to provide essential support for students with specific learning needs. One position is full-time, while the other is part-time (35%).
These roles are designed to address the educational requirements of individual students and may conclude when the student exits the program or departs from the school.
Objectives of the Student Learning Coach Role
- To offer additional assistance to students, enabling them to reach their maximum potential.
- To collaborate with Learning Support and classroom educators to enhance student learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
The responsibilities associated with these positions include, but are not limited to, the following, under the supervision of the classroom or learning support teacher:
- Provide targeted support to students needing extra instruction across various subjects.
- Reinforce behavioral standards within the classroom and the broader school environment.
- Participate in meetings to strategize for the needs of the student(s) as required.
- Adhere to reasonable requests made by school leadership.
- Communicate with teachers as necessary to obtain assignments, study materials, or resources for students.
- Maintain ongoing communication with teachers throughout the academic year.
- Work with students on identified areas of need, such as reading strategies, organizational skills, self-advocacy, and study techniques.
- Collaborate with counselors, learning support staff, and faculty to develop strategies that assist students.
General Expectations
The Student Learning Coaches will engage with students requiring additional academic support. Their roles involve working closely with the classroom teacher, learning support teacher, counselor, and other professionals to foster the child's educational development. This may involve supporting individual students or small groups with diverse learning challenges. The aim of the Student Learning Coaches is to empower students to develop the skills and tools necessary for independence and success.
