The Hatch Project Controls Group operates as a global practice, providing project controls expertise to Hatch's commodity-driven business units. Our capabilities encompass the entire project lifecycle, from scoping and conceptual design to feasibility studies, engineering, construction, and project management.
We are currently in search of an Experienced Project Scheduler to oversee planning and progress assessment on complex capital projects. Ideal candidates will possess substantial experience in engineering consulting and EPCM projects within the metals, energy, or infrastructure domains.
Key Responsibilities
Safety Commitment
- Demonstrate a strong personal commitment to safety
- Take personal responsibility for reporting safety incidents
- Embrace a behavioral-based safety culture
- Actively halt any unsafe practices and report incidents for corrective measures
- Familiarize yourself with Hatch's safety protocols and procedures.
Development of Project Master Schedule
- Deliver project planning and progress measurement, ensuring adherence to Hatch's procedures and best practices
- Confirm and refine FEL4 level 3 scheduling
- Identify and schedule critical vendor data requirements
- Populate approved measurable commodity quantities and labor to establish baseline S-curves
- Engage in project schedule risk analysis and incorporate resultant contingencies into the baseline
- Utilize progress reports and project schedules to maintain, optimize, and monitor progress, identifying and resolving issues
- Analyze contractor level 4 schedules and provide recommendations.
Monitoring and Updating Project Schedules
- Generate and verify weekly updates and distribute progress reports
- Maintain and optimize schedules, monitor progress, and address schedule issues
- Create all progress curves
- Develop and maintain commodity and resource profiles
- Extract and publish four-week look-ahead schedules
- Monitor delays and critical paths, discussing resolutions with the Project Controls Manager
- Establish all equipment/material and contractor Required on Site (ROS) dates
- Provide schedule input for procurement bids, including reporting requirements and vendor/contractor milestone dates
- Assist in bid evaluations and ongoing vendor/contractor schedule management.
Management of Project Trends and Changes
- Upon approval of changes, maintain and optimize schedules, monitor progress, and highlight potential concerns.
Progress Measurement and Earned Value Analysis
- Generate and verify weekly updates and issue progress reports
- Collect progress information through various reports and calculate progress for construction packages.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- Tertiary qualification in engineering or a related discipline
- Strong technical knowledge in a multi-disciplinary environment
- Understanding of estimating and tendering processes
- Proficiency in Primavera Project Planner P6
- Technical insight into work methods and techniques
- Familiarity with risk management principles
- Solid understanding of project management principles
Preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Able to perform under pressure and meet deadlines
- Effective problem-solving and mitigation skills
- Presentation skills.
