Job Summary

Hatch is seeking an experienced Project Planner to join our Project Delivery Group (PDG) in Essen, Germany. As a Project Planner, you will be responsible for delivering planning and progress measurement on high complexity capital projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safety
    • Ensure a strong personal commitment to safety and report any safety incidents.
    • Familiarize yourself with Hatch safety processes, protocols, and procedures.
  • Project Master Schedule Development
    • Develop and refine project schedules, ensuring Hatch procedures and best practices are applied.
    • Identify and schedule critical vendor data requirements.
    • Populate approved measurable commodity quantities and labor to produce baseline S-curves.
    • Participate in project schedule risk analysis and include resultant contingency in baseline.
    • Monitor and optimize project schedules, highlighting and resolving issues.
  • Project Schedule Monitoring and Updates
    • Generate and verify weekly updates and issue progress reports.
    • Maintain and optimize schedules, monitor progress, and highlight/resolve schedule issues.
    • Extract and publish four-week look-ahead schedules.
    • Monitor slippages and critical/near-critical paths and discuss with Project Controls Manager for resolution.
  • Project Trend and Change Management
    • Maintain and optimize schedules, monitor progress, and highlight/resolve areas of potential concern following approved changes.
  • Project Progress Measurement and Earned Value
    • Generate and verify weekly updates and issue progress reports.
    • Obtain progress information via progress reports, EPCM status reports, vendor progress reports, and cost reports, and calculate progress for construction packages.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • Tertiary qualification in engineering or a relevant discipline.
  • Sound technical knowledge in a multi-discipline environment.
  • Knowledge of estimating and tendering processes.
  • Proficiency in Primavera Project Planner P6.
  • Technical overview of work methods and techniques.
  • Risk management principles.
  • Good knowledge of project management principles.
