Position Overview
As an IT Specialist for Application Support and Development at EDG Entsorgung Dortmund GmbH, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of our specialized applications. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks aimed at enhancing user experience and optimizing application performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide independent support to users across various levels, addressing inquiries and resolving issues through thorough problem analysis and effective solution implementation.
- Oversee the installation, operation, maintenance, and monitoring of specialized software applications.
- Design, develop, and enhance reports and dashboards to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
- Conduct data structure analysis of upstream systems and create data models within our existing Business Intelligence framework (Qlik View, Qlik Sense, NPrinting).
- Gather and analyze requirements to ensure alignment with business needs.
- Implement technical adjustments and software solutions to improve functionality.
- Lead software project implementations from conception to completion.
- Facilitate training sessions to empower users and enhance their understanding of applications.
- Manage relationships with external service providers to ensure quality support.
- Coordinate and oversee function expansions and application development initiatives.
- Support the procurement process by providing technical insights.
- Design and oversee program testing in collaboration with relevant departments.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in IT or a completed vocational training as an IT specialist in application development, or equivalent education with relevant professional experience.
- Proven experience in IT project management and report development; familiarity with Qlik View and/or Qlik Sense is a plus.
- Knowledge of various software solutions and subsystems.
- Strong understanding of relational database structures (Oracle, MS-SQL).
- Proficient in SQL query development.
- Ability to think structurally and solve problems collaboratively, with strong analytical and communication skills.
- Demonstrated initiative, resilience, teamwork, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- A valid Class B driving license is required.
