We are seeking a People Partner (HR Business Partner) for Contract Logistics in Germany (m/f/d).
This role presents an exciting opportunity within a diverse and fast-paced international business environment. With significant responsibilities, you will report functionally to the Lead People Partner and interact with multiple stakeholders within Maersk, primarily in the Contract Logistics domain. In this matrix organization, you will work alongside leaders, Strategic HR Business Partners, and regional employee experience teams to ensure the effective execution of agreed-upon people strategies.
As a People Partner, you will closely collaborate with the Area Head of Fulfilled by Maersk in Northern Europe and site leaders to develop world-class Contract Logistics capabilities that support our strategic objectives, including multiple site openings in the coming years. You will also lead the implementation of People & Organization strategies aimed at attracting, hiring, developing, and retaining diverse top talent, ensuring an optimized organizational structure that fosters an inspiring and engaging culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with leadership teams to co-own the people agenda for Contract Logistics and Landside operations, enabling the anticipated growth over the next five years.
- Partner with regional leaders to establish both short-term and long-term objectives that drive business success, ensuring alignment with the people agenda.
- Serve as a partner and coach to leaders and site managers, assisting them in enhancing their leadership effectiveness and driving succession planning for key roles.
- Support leaders throughout the annual HR cycle and collaborate with deployment teams to facilitate the implementation of HR processes.
- Promote a culture where Maersk's values and behaviors are integral to business decision-making.
- Provide guidance on Industrial and Labour Relations in coordination with local experts, leveraging knowledge of Trade Unions and Workers Councils to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with local legislation.
- Assist leaders in building high-performing teams prepared for future logistics needs, fostering a culture of high performance and addressing areas for improvement.
- Work with regional HR Business Partners to ensure timely and effective execution of agreed people plans, collaborating with global design teams to ensure alignment with logistics needs.
- Ensure that our Rewards packages are competitive and reflect market standards, particularly for skilled workforce segments.
- Actively contribute to a collaborative culture within the HR function, participating in projects that shape Maersk's future HR policies and processes based on business needs.
Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
- Extensive experience (8-10 years) as an HR generalist or People Partner, preferably in logistics, with a strong grasp of HR fundamentals.
- Proven track record in managing frontline operational employees in leading organizations.
- In-depth knowledge of local labor laws and experience in unionized environments.
- Resilience and maturity in navigating change and achieving results in challenging situations.
- Experience in large international organizations, with the ability to build relationships and navigate complex stakeholder landscapes.
- Strong business acumen and data analytics capabilities.
- Proficient change management, facilitation, and coaching skills.
- Experience in a start-up or entrepreneurial setting is advantageous.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently while fostering collaboration and teamwork.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both German and English.
