Senior Actuarial Pricing Specialist

Your Role

As a Senior Actuarial Pricing Specialist, you will oversee a team member while collaborating within a group and reporting to the Head of Property & Casualty International Pricing.

  • Accountable for establishing default and benchmark parameters for the global treaty operations in property and casualty insurance; enhancing the feedback loop between historical performance indicators and the formulation of future pricing parameters across all significant P&C business sectors.
  • Responsible for coordinating pricing evaluations, developing and implementing the pricing control framework, ensuring adherence to guidelines, and providing training.
  • Engage in the conceptual and technical advancement of new and existing property and casualty pricing instruments; this includes contributing to the enhancement and refinement of pricing methodologies and benchmark models.
  • Assist in the design and conception of performance metrics and their integration with pricing tools.
  • Support quantitative risk management efforts, including the establishment of target margins and the ongoing development of foundational capital models.
  • Price intricate reinsurance arrangements and assist local underwriters in this endeavor.
  • Contribute to the application and integration of artificial intelligence in Gen Re's proprietary pricing and performance assessment applications.

Your Profile

  • A degree in mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
  • Ideally, a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in (re)insurance, particularly in pricing within property and casualty insurance, with completed actuarial training from a recognized institution.
  • Proficient in Excel and demonstrated experience with programming languages such as R or Python.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of German is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • A collaborative team player with a knack for sustainable networking and attention to detail, who also delivers outstanding results independently and proactively seeks enhancements to existing processes.
