Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Pricing Actuary to join our Pricing - P&C International team based in our Cologne office. As a Senior Pricing Actuary, you will be responsible for leading a staff member and contributing to the development of new and improvement of existing property and casualty pricing tools.
Key Responsibilities- Setting Default and Benchmark Parameters: You will be responsible for setting default and benchmark parameters for the international treaty business in property and casualty insurance, ensuring that our pricing strategies are aligned with industry best practices.
- Pricing Reviews and Control Framework: You will be responsible for organizing pricing reviews, developing and applying the pricing control framework, and ensuring compliance with guidelines and training.
- Development of Pricing Tools: You will contribute to the conceptual and technical development of new and improvement of existing property and casualty pricing tools, including the improvement and refinement of pricing methodologies and benchmark models.
- Performance Metrics and Risk Management: You will support the conception and design of performance metrics and their connection to the pricing tools, as well as supporting quantitative risk management, including the determination of target margins and the further development of underlying capital models.
- Pricing for Complex Reinsurance Structures: You will be responsible for pricing for complex reinsurance structures and supporting local underwriters in this task.
- Implementation of AI in Pricing and Performance Measurement: You will contribute to the use and implementation of AI in Gen Re's own pricing and performance measurement applications.
- Education: Degree in mathematics/statistics or a similar subject.
- Experience: Ideally at least 5 years of professional experience in (re)insurance, preferably in pricing in property and casualty insurance, with a completed actuarial training at a recognized association.
- Skills: Very good knowledge of Excel and proven experience with programming languages such as R or Python. Fluent in English; knowledge of German desirable.
- Personal Qualities: Strong communication and presentation skills, team player with an affinity for sustainable networking and an eye for detail, who also achieves excellent results independently and actively seeks improvements to current processes.
