About the Role
StoneX Financial GmbH is seeking a highly skilled AML Compliance Specialist to provide efficient and high-quality financial crime prevention support in various business areas of the company.
Job Purpose
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the review and creation of relevant policies and procedures, supporting quality assessments of outsourced AML operational tasks, and performing ad-hoc customer due diligence on existing clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of AML policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Support the quality assessment of outsourced AML operational tasks to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Perform ad-hoc customer due diligence on existing clients to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct transaction monitoring reviews and client screening as needed to identify potential financial crime risks.
- Review and process alerts and escalations from other teams to ensure timely and effective response to potential financial crime risks.
- Investigate suspicious cases and assist the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) in preparing suspicious transaction activity reports to the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU).
- Assist the MLRO in preparing and communicating relevant external reports to competent authorities, such as the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) and the German Customs Investigation Service (LKA).
- Assist the MLRO in preparing documentation for internal and external audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date registers and client data as needed.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects as required to support the company's AML compliance efforts.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- Knowledge of international and German compliance laws, regulations, and industry practices.
- Attention to detail and analytical mind.
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
- Understanding of the business context of a payment provider.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work flexibly under pressure, often with short notice deadlines.
- Very good command of English and German (any other language is an advantage).
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
