About the Role

The Product Owner will be responsible for the B2B2C marketplace, a key part of ZEISS Vision Care's channel strategy. The marketplace will enable online sales of complete spectacles to customers (ECPs) and provide a best-in-class shop experience to consumers. The Product Owner will work closely with the Head of Marketplace to prioritize features, develop the long-term product strategy, and manage technical dependencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Derive, structure, and prioritize features and user stories, and manage the backlog.
  • Interact with UI/UX specialists to deliver designed features meeting the expectation of an outstanding user experience.
  • Coordinate the interdisciplinary and cross-functional implementation of new features for an international marketplace.
  • Guide and instruct the Development Team and manage technical dependencies.
  • Apply hybrid software development and ensure all software releases are bug-free and meet the high expectations of customers and internal processes.
  • Ensure timely rollouts of marketplace features and enable evidence-based decision making by supporting data & analytics activities for tracking of consumer and customer behavior.

Requirements

  • University degree in medical, computer science, engineering, business informatics, business information systems engineering, or a relevant adjacent subject.
  • 4+ years of work experience in software product development with agile software development of complex products.
  • Knowledge of agile frameworks (SCRUM, SAFe) and tools like JIRA or Azure DevOps.
  • Strong result orientation, self-driven and autonomous working style, entrepreneurial spirit, and data-driven mentality.
  • Passion for consumer-facing, eCommerce-driven digital products that drive conversion, user behavior, and user-centered methodologies.
  • Capability of managing and steering projects via cross-functional intercultural teams.
  • Open in communication, reliable, self-organized, and able to manage several workstreams in parallel.
  • Willingness to take over responsibility and make decisions.
  • Fluency in English both written and oral, German is desirable.
  • Willingness to travel internationally and work with different time zones.
