Supplier Quality Management Engineer

This role is integral to the Supplier Quality & Development team within Vestas, focusing on the NCE region. The team coordinates SQ&D initiatives, ensuring a steadfast commitment to quality, safety, and environmental considerations while developing and executing various category strategies without compromising Vestas's standards and protocols. A key responsibility is to implement strategic and operational enhancements for critical suppliers in the NCE region through audits, supplier evaluations, and significant QSE improvement projects aimed at achieving superior supplier performance, zero incidents, and minimized non-conformities.
Key Responsibilities
In this position, you will implement the Vestas Quality, Safety, and Environment Strategy for external suppliers in the Indirect category - Capex & Tools. Additional responsibilities include:
- Facilitating discussions on supplier quality, capability, and performance in alignment with regional and global strategies.
- Executing new market entry strategies and onboarding new suppliers, ensuring adherence to Vestas processes.
- Collaborating with regional QHSE & Construction teams to finalize supplier improvement initiatives.
- Guiding QSE efforts in instances of non-quality performance and incidents with suppliers in accordance with Vestas requirements.
- Leading Supplier Business Review Meetings with cross-functional participation.
- Developing and executing supplier development projects and local initiatives.
- Conducting QHSE audits and preparing comprehensive executive reports.
- Willingness to travel frequently, with extended stays for work, constituting approximately 60-70% of the role.
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in supplier management with a focus on safety and quality.
- Proven experience in supplier management and leading improvement initiatives in quality, processes, and safety.
- Prior experience in wind, mechanical, or heavy manufacturing sectors is essential.
- Certification as an auditor/lead auditor in ISO and other relevant quality-safety standards is advantageous.
- Strong project management capabilities with a track record of delivering complex development projects across the organization.
- Proficiency in data analytics and effective problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to facilitate meetings effectively in a diverse, international, and cross-functional environment.
- Self-motivated with strong learning and critical thinking abilities, capable of identifying and implementing actionable solutions to complex challenges.
- Fluency in English is required.
