Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer

This role is integral to the Supplier Quality & Development team in the Vestas NCE region, which orchestrates SQ&D initiatives and ensures unwavering commitment to quality, safety, and environmental considerations while executing various category strategies without compromising Vestas's established standards and processes. The primary responsibility is to implement strategic and operational enhancements for critical suppliers in the NCE region through conducting audits, supplier evaluations, and pivotal QSE improvement initiatives aimed at achieving superior supplier performance, zero incidents, and minimized non-conformities.
Key Responsibilities
In this position, you will implement the Vestas Quality, Safety, and Environment Strategy for external suppliers under the Indirect category - Capex & Tools. Additional responsibilities include:
- Facilitating discussions on supplier quality, capability, and performance in alignment with regional and global strategies.
- Executing new market entry strategies and onboarding new suppliers, ensuring adherence to Vestas processes.
- Collaborating with regional QHSE & Construction teams to finalize supplier improvement initiatives.
- Directing QSE activities in response to non-quality performance and incidents with suppliers in accordance with Vestas requirements.
- Leading Supplier Business Review Meetings with cross-functional participation.
- Designing and executing supplier development projects and local initiatives.
- Conducting QHSE audits and preparing comprehensive executive reports.
- Frequent travel and extended work assignments are essential components of this role, constituting approximately 60-70% of the job.
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in similar roles with a focus on supplier management, safety, and quality.
- Proven experience in supplier management and leading improvement initiatives in quality, processes, and safety.
- Prior experience in wind, mechanical, or heavy manufacturing is essential.
- Certification as an auditor/lead auditor in ISO and other relevant quality-safety standards is advantageous.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to execute complex development projects across the organization.
- Proficiency in data analytics and effective problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong aptitude for facilitating meetings and collaborating with diverse stakeholders in an international, cross-functional environment.
- Self-motivated with independent learning and critical thinking capabilities, coupled with the ability to identify and implement actionable solutions to intricate challenges.
- Fluency in English.
