ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Knowledge Director within BCG's Principal Investors & Private Equity (PIPE) Practice Area, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction for the Sector/Topic. Your responsibilities will include building and managing a team of 4-8+ Sector/Topic specialists to deliver enhanced support to the business while overseeing the team's performance across all key performance indicators (KPIs) such as case billability, quality, and content generation.

In addition, you will leverage your extensive domain expertise to contribute directly to cases, proposals, and client workshops. Your role will also involve representing the team at SATT & Conferences, showcasing your knowledge and insights in various meetings and forums.

KEY COMPETENCIES
  • Leading problem-solving initiatives and crafting tailored solutions for clients that align with their business context.
  • Driving the development and commercialization of knowledge assets, including tools and industry/topic materials in relevant PIPE areas.
  • Engaging effectively with senior stakeholders, demonstrating authority and credibility.
  • Managing projects efficiently, mobilizing the team to achieve business priorities and drive commercial impact.
  • Acting as a mentor and coach, guiding team members towards their professional goals.
  • Navigating complex and dynamic environments with ease, demonstrating comfort with ambiguity.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • A minimum of 7 years of consulting experience in relevant PIPE topic areas is required; candidates with consulting backgrounds are preferred.
  • If lacking consulting experience, at least 8 years of industry experience is essential, with a strong preference for industry experience.
  • A Bachelor's Degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • Specialization in relevant PIPE topic areas is necessary.
  • Fluency in English and German is required.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with both internal and external stakeholders in a global collaborative environment.

As a Knowledge Director, you will collaborate with global topic leaders and colleagues across BCG to leverage expertise and capabilities for the benefit of our clients. Our team comprises a diverse range of knowledge professionals, enabling us to pursue innovative and rewarding knowledge careers.

ADDITIONAL CONTEXT

The Knowledge Team (KT) consists of functional and industry experts who utilize their deep domain knowledge to provide insights for case teams and clients. KT members are aligned with BCG Practice Areas, contributing to the strategic agenda and developing leading-edge intellectual property and data tools/assets to deliver valuable insights.

Members of BCG's Knowledge Team are actively involved in casework, co-creating insights with case teams and clients through expert perspectives on industry trends, delivering proprietary data or tools in specific functions, and conducting comprehensive research and analysis of market information. KT members also support business development and proposals, helping to organize and codify the knowledge that enables BCG to deliver exceptional business value to its clients.
