Position Overview

As a Knowledge Director within BCG's Principal Investors & Private Equity (PIPE) Practice Area, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction for the Sector/Topic. Your leadership will involve cultivating and deploying a team of 4-8+ Sector/Topic specialists to deliver enhanced support to the business while ensuring the team's performance aligns with all key performance indicators (KPIs) such as case billability, quality, and content generation.

Your responsibilities will also encompass overseeing the professional growth and career advancement of your team members.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Directly engage in cases, proposals, and client workshops, leveraging your extensive domain expertise.
  • Support SATT & Conferences, showcasing your knowledge in various meetings and events.
About BCG's PIPE Practice Area

BCG's PIPE Practice Area collaborates with leading investment firms, addressing six client asset classes: Private Equity, Hedge Funds, Infrastructure & Real Estate Funds, Family Offices, Sovereign Wealth Funds, and Pension Plans. The topics covered span these asset classes and intersect with various industries and sub-topics, including Commercial Due Diligence, Tech Capital, Private Credit, and Operational Improvement.

Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 7 years of consulting experience in relevant PIPE topics; candidates with consulting backgrounds are preferred.
  • If lacking consulting experience, at least 8 years of industry experience is required, with a strong preference for industry backgrounds.
  • A Bachelor's Degree is essential (an advanced degree is preferred).
  • Specialization in pertinent PIPE topics.
  • Fluency in both English and German.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders in a global collaborative environment.

As a Knowledge Director, you will work alongside global topic leaders and colleagues throughout BCG to harness expertise and capabilities for the benefit of our clients. Our team comprises a diverse array of knowledge professionals, allowing us to pursue exciting and innovative knowledge careers.

Additional Insights

The Knowledge Team (KT) consists of functional and/or industry experts who leverage deep domain knowledge to provide insights for case teams and clients. KT members are aligned with BCG Practice Areas, contributing to the strategic agenda and developing leading-edge intellectual property, data tools, and assets to deliver valuable insights.

Members of the Knowledge Team are engaged in cases, co-creating insights with case teams and clients through expert perspectives on industry trends, delivering proprietary data or tools, and conducting complex research and analysis of market information. They also support business development and proposals, organizing and codifying knowledge that enables BCG to deliver exceptional business value to its clients.
