Lead Marine Surveyor

Job Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Marine Surveyor who will oversee a dedicated team to provide exceptional technical and commercial services. This role involves tackling complex challenges for both external and internal clients, identifying a variety of potential solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and conduct relevant operations, offering guidance and alternative solutions for service delivery while adhering to budgetary constraints and contractual obligations.
- Ensure all outputs from the office align with internal and external standards, maintaining budget, timeline, and quality expectations.
- Engage with clients, presenting deliverables and proposing solutions as necessary.
- Conduct activities in compliance with internal protocols, accreditation standards, legislation, and industry benchmarks.
- Evaluate and recommend the time and cost associated with tasks for external clients, establishing the most suitable fee structure.
- Provide mentorship and coaching to team members to facilitate effective knowledge transfer.
- Make recommendations based on client feedback to enhance internal and external processes and service delivery.
- Lead surveys and attend to clients and vessels for regular and high-risk activities.
- Develop and manage a team of Lead, Senior Surveyors, and Surveyors, focusing on recruitment, performance management, training, and work distribution.
Qualifications:
- A degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution in engineering or physical sciences, or relevant marine qualifications with sea-going experience.
- Membership in a relevant professional organization.
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with diverse individuals.
- Proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
- Excellent communication skills in German are a plus.
- Residing in proximity to Bremerhaven is preferred.
