Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Marine Surveyor to oversee a dedicated team responsible for delivering high-quality technical and commercial services. This role involves addressing complex challenges for both external and internal clients, offering a variety of solutions tailored to their needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily operations and activities, ensuring compliance with budgetary and contractual obligations while adhering to established Marine KPIs.
  • Guarantee that all outputs from the office meet the required standards for quality, time, and budget, taking responsibility for monitoring and reviewing work processes.
  • Engage with clients at various levels, presenting deliverables and proposing solutions as necessary.
  • Conduct operations in accordance with internal protocols, industry standards, and relevant legislation.
  • Evaluate and recommend the scope and value of work for external clients, negotiating appropriate fees and cost structures.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members to facilitate effective knowledge transfer.
  • Utilize client feedback to recommend improvements in internal and external processes, collaborating with the commercial team to enhance service delivery.
  • Lead surveys and participate in high-risk activities, ensuring adherence to safety and operational standards.
  • Develop and manage a team of surveyors, overseeing recruitment, performance assessments, training, and task assignments.

Qualifications:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in engineering or physical sciences recognized by Lloyd's Register, or qualifications from a marine institution with relevant sea-going experience.
  • Membership in a relevant professional institution.
  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Proficiency in German is advantageous.
  • Residence in proximity to Bremerhaven is preferred.
