Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Marine Surveyor to oversee a dedicated team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality technical and commercial services. This role involves tackling complex challenges for both external and internal clients, providing a variety of viable solutions. The successful candidate will manage operations in the Bremerhaven area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and manage relevant activities, offering guidance and alternative solutions for service delivery, while adhering to budgetary constraints and contractual obligations.
- Ensure all outputs from the office meet both internal and external standards regarding budget, timelines, and quality, taking responsibility for reviewing and monitoring work processes.
- Engage with clients at all levels, presenting deliverables and suggesting solutions as necessary.
- Conduct operations in compliance with internal protocols, accreditation standards, and industry regulations.
- Evaluate and recommend the time and cost associated with work for external clients, negotiating appropriate fees and cost structures.
- Provide mentorship and coaching to team members to facilitate effective knowledge transfer.
- Utilize client feedback to recommend improvements in internal and external processes, contributing to business development alongside the commercial team.
- Lead surveys and participate in high-risk activities, ensuring safety and compliance within the discipline.
- Manage and develop a team of surveyors, including recruitment, performance evaluation, training, and task allocation.
Qualifications:
- A degree or equivalent from a recognized institution in engineering or physical sciences, or qualifications from a marine institution with relevant sea-going experience.
- Membership in a relevant professional organization.
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse individuals.
- A proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
- Proficiency in German is advantageous.
- Residing in proximity to Bremerhaven.
