Job Summary
Colt Technology Services is seeking a skilled Commissioning Specialist to oversee the thorough testing, verification, and validation process of data centre infrastructure before it becomes operational. The successful candidate will work across the entire span of a project, ensuring that the designs and concepts will work in practice and can be tested to prove that.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement commissioning plans to ensure that data centre infrastructure operates as expected.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to test and validate the constructed infrastructure.
  • Provide regular updates to customers on commissioning progress and ensure their confidence in Colt's commissioning process.
  • Work with the project team to keep internal stakeholders informed of commissioning progress.
  • Manage programmes and budgets, and take measured decisions regarding project risk.
  • Apply different management styles as needed, including with internal teams, external consultants, and difficult contractors.

Requirements
  • Strong understanding of data centre engineering principles and practical knowledge of how systems operate once installed.
  • Ability to manage programmes and budgets, and take measured decisions regarding project risk.
  • Knowledge of the Ashrae level 1-6 data centre commissioning process.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to apply different management styles as needed.
