The automotive sector is currently facing numerous challenges, including technological advancements, global supply chain disruptions, geopolitical uncertainties, and escalating costs of raw materials and energy. The Financial Supplier Risk Management team provides a unique opportunity to delve into this multifaceted domain through an internship lasting a minimum of six months, where you will take ownership of specific tasks and contribute your insights.
Key ResponsibilitiesYour responsibilities will include:
- Conducting financial risk assessments of the supplier portfolio at Mercedes-Benz.
- Preparing comprehensive business analyses based on profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, collaborating with external rating agencies to evaluate supplier financial health.
- Assisting in the planning, controlling, and reporting of specialized supplier services.
- Generating statistical analyses and evaluations for the entire supplier portfolio.
- Collaborating in the development of supplier risk maps to evaluate suppliers across various geographical regions.
- Drafting decision-making documents for management committees in both German and English, along with actively preparing for and following up on committee meetings.
- Participating in supplier meetings, both virtually and in-person.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A degree in business administration or economics, with a focus on accounting or corporate finance, or a related field.
- Practical experience in the automotive industry, management consulting, or auditing is preferred.
- Familiarity with financial statement analysis and risk management is advantageous.
- Proficient written and spoken skills in both German and English.
- Strong command of MS Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- A high degree of commitment and an independent work ethic.
- Team-oriented mindset.
- Analytical thinking abilities.
