UI/UX Design Internship for E/E Innovation Projects

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated working student to contribute to our UI/UX design efforts within the realm of electrical and electronic innovation projects. This role is integral to our mission of enhancing the user experience in our automotive technologies.

Department:
The position is situated in the Technologies and Architectures department, part of the Electrics/Electronics Integration Center. Our focus is on managing the complexities of electrics and electronics in vehicles while leveraging digitalization for effective testing and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:
As a member of our team, you will specifically support the UI/UX design and development work package. Your tasks will include:

  • Facilitating and conducting creative workshops with prospective users.
  • Implementing and evaluating usability tests to gather valuable feedback.
  • Creating user journeys and defining requirements for processes, hardware, and software.
  • Designing and visualizing modern interfaces for digital production applications and dashboards, including the development of wireframes and interactive prototypes using contemporary design software.
  • Contributing to the front-end development in tools such as Adobe XD and Illustrator, or coding in HTML, CSS, and/or React.
  • Assisting in the preparation and presentation of design outcomes and prototypes.
  • Developing training materials for future users of the newly designed applications.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree in media informatics, web design, media technology, human factors, UX/UI design, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken German and English.
  • Strong skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with UX design software such as Sketch and Adobe XD, along with image and video editing tools (Photoshop). Experience with Java, HTML, CSS, or React is a plus.
  • A high level of reliability, proactivity, independence, and attention to detail, coupled with excellent communication skills and creativity.
  • Basic experience in the UI/UX design process.
