The Solutions Consultant Manager represents a modern evolution of the conventional Sales Engineer Manager role, focusing on how we guide teams to effectively assist our clients in comprehending their environments, offering solution insights, and ensuring they derive value from their investments with Palo Alto Networks.
In this role, you will serve as the technical authority for the Solutions Consulting team dedicated to Strategic Automotive and Manufacturing clients. Collaborating closely with the District Sales Manager, you and your team will cultivate relationships with customers, aiming to help them identify and thwart advanced cyber threats and breaches. Our clients require direction on which applications to implement from our suite of solutions. Your expertise, mentorship, and guidance will empower your team to stay ahead of emerging cyber threats and maintain a proactive stance on prevention.
As the technical lead for your designated region, you will mentor and develop your team to create innovative technical solutions that safeguard customers' critical business objectives and maximize the value of their investment with Palo Alto Networks. You will advocate for our leadership in on-premises, cloud, and security operations services, positioning Palo Alto Networks as the preferred cybersecurity partner for your clients. Additionally, you will foster talent within your team and provide insightful feedback to the product management team regarding new feature requests and product enhancements based on insights gained from customer interactions.
Your Impact
- Recruit and onboard new Solutions Consultants within your territory, ensuring the acquisition of top industry talent.
- Oversee training, mentoring, and performance evaluations for your team, ensuring their engagement and success in their careers.
- Assist field Solutions Consultant teams in complex evaluations, problem-solving, and navigating challenging customer environments.
- Lead and coach your team on effective technical validation strategies based on best practices to secure technical wins in assigned opportunities.
- Define, develop, and monitor individual growth plans for your team members.
- Collaborate closely with Professional Services, Customer Success, and Specialist teams to guarantee comprehensive customer implementation and adoption of solutions.
- Provide impactful technical leadership during customer interactions, sharing security trends and best practices employed by other clients to enhance the selling process.
- Drive efforts to integrate the Palo Alto Networks Platform within your accounts.
- Work in conjunction with the Domain Consultant Manager to optimize resource utilization and align necessary resources to your projects.
- Act as a point of escalation to collaborate with pre-sales and post-sales teams for any arising issues.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key customers to solidify reference accounts and assist account teams in formulating strategies to drive additional business.
- Present as the subject matter expert to customers at all levels, from technical staff to executive leadership.
- Engage in discussions regarding competitor products in the market, positioning ours as the superior alternative.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Technical Marketing, and R&D to define requirements and product features for our large customers, providing valuable feedback from customer interactions.
- Expect to travel 30-50% within the region.
Your Experience
- Proven experience as a pre-sales System Engineer Manager or a similar role, engaging in technical strategic interactions with large clients.
- In-depth knowledge of security product market trends and an understanding of our roadmap and technology development efforts; familiarity with competitor offerings is advantageous.
- Experience partnering with Customer Support functions to ensure successful implementation and adoption of sold solutions.
- Demonstrated success as a people manager for seasoned professionals.
- Exceptional communication (both written and verbal) and presentation skills.
- Quota-driven mindset focused on delivering the best solutions for clients as a trusted advisor.
- Proficiency in business-level German and English.
