Postdoctoral Researcher for Global Health Research

Job Summary
The Heidelberg Institute of Global Health is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team. As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will work under the guidance of Dr. Pascal Geldsetzer and other researchers to lead analyses in large-scale electronic health record data to determine the real-life effectiveness of certain medications, lifestyle advice, or health services interventions on health and health system outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement quasi-experimental techniques, descriptive epidemiology, and randomized trials to analyze health outcomes
- Collaborate with researchers, clinicians, and methodologists to develop and implement research projects
- Lead analyses in large-scale electronic health record data to determine the effectiveness of health interventions
- Publish research findings in high-impact peer-reviewed journals
- Supervise PhD, Master, and Dr. med students
- Teach as part of the institute's Masters and doctoral program
Requirements
- Doctoral degree with quantitative training or research experience
- Training and experience in quasi-experimental methods is a plus
- Strong coding skills in R, Stata, or other statistical software package
- Good communication skills in English (knowledge of German is not necessary)
