Senior Equity Sales Trader for European Markets

Position Overview:

Role Context and Team Integration

The Equity Distribution team operates within the Origination & Advisory (O&A) sector of Deutsche Bank's Investment Banking division, collaborating closely with the broader organization. This pivotal role encompasses the responsibility of acquiring and managing order flow from our institutional clientele across Europe, with direct reporting to the Head of Sales Trading in London. The position is essential for enhancing the current business landscape and establishing operations in Frankfurt. The Sales Trader will engage with the wider Equity Distribution network, including the UK and Pan-European Sales teams, as well as the UK Trading team, to support the overarching Investment Banking framework.

Key Responsibilities
  • Efficiently execute trades, focusing on high-touch strategies to optimize revenue opportunities.
  • Deliver timely insights on market trends and specific stocks to equity trading desks and their Portfolio Managers.
  • Expand Deutsche Bank's client portfolio throughout Europe.
  • Engage in the Primary Issuance process, including IPOs and Advanced Book Builds.
  • Travel to foster relationships with new and existing clients, enhancing business prospects.
Required Skills and Experience
  • A minimum of 8 years' experience on a High Touch trading desk, with an established client network across Europe.
  • A relevant academic qualification from a prestigious university.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK/Irish trading principles, market dynamics, and structures, including off-orderbook transactions, ideally with experience in the UK market.
  • A robust European Equity dealing client base with Primary Coverage on these accounts.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating a clear understanding of market fundamentals and regulatory frameworks. Staying informed on market developments and trends is essential.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in German is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities, with a collaborative spirit suited for a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven track record in relationship building and client acquisition.
