About the Position
We are seeking a skilled Senior Data Engineer (m/f/d) to enhance our portfolio company’s data initiatives.
In this role, you will collaborate with a team of highly motivated and knowledgeable Engineers, tackling intricate challenges in the data landscape.
Our portfolio company, established in 2021 and headquartered in Berlin, operates a pioneering marketplace that transforms one of the largest supply chains globally. The company aims to harness the extensive potential of cross-border supply for the Western Market by offering global access to premium products through its innovative platform. Since its inception, the firm has discreetly served numerous businesses without public exposure.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop, refine, and optimize extensive datasets to serve various business applications.
- Engage with stakeholders to comprehend business requirements and convert them into actionable data intelligence solutions.
- Apply machine learning methodologies to derive insights and predictive analytics from data.
- Design and execute solutions for real-time data processing and analysis to meet dynamic business demands and support decision-making.
- Examine repetitive and predictive tasks in after-sales processes to gain insights into customer behavior, forecast future needs, and automate routine operations.
- Oversee the creation of a robust data platform, including data storage, pipeline architecture, and data warehouse systems.
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline; Master's degree is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in data engineering, especially with big data technologies and platforms.
- Strong expertise in machine learning techniques and statistical analysis.
- Practical experience with real-time data processing frameworks such as Kafka or Spark.
- Proficiency in data platform development and cloud technologies, ideally with experience in Databricks.
- Exceptional communication and teamwork skills, capable of thriving in a cross-functional environment.
- Familiarity with strategies for optimizing buyer experiences, including catalog management and pricing algorithms.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, evolving environment and deliver results in a dynamic organization.
