Senior Project Leader in Offshore Wind

We are seeking a Project Manager to oversee our Offshore Wind division within the Global Center of Competence. This role requires close collaboration with Offshore Wind developers, T&D Utility clients, EPC Contractors, and local units of Hitachi Energy globally.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for sustainable energy, a proactive attitude, and the capability to manage, oversee, and evaluate significant customer-focused projects. Additionally, you will be responsible for promoting and positioning System Solutions and corresponding Service Solutions within the Offshore Wind sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee significant national and international offshore projects
  • Lead a multidisciplinary project team, delegating tasks according to project-specific requirements and guidelines
  • Assess customer needs, clarify the technical and commercial aspects of the order in collaboration with the customer and project team, and define the project structure, organization, scope, and timeline
  • Conduct contract reviews and technical order clarifications with support from Sales and Engineering
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, serving as the primary point of contact
  • Monitor and manage project progress utilizing Hitachi Energy's Policies, Best Practices, and Lessons Learned to ensure timely and budget-compliant project completion while maintaining high-quality standards
  • Organize, control, and monitor processing steps such as engineering, assembly, and commissioning to achieve project objectives
  • Plan factory testing and commissioning, as well as acceptance and handover of the system at the customer site
  • Oversee project financing, including invoicing, costs, cash flows, and other key performance indicators
  • Manage risks and claims related to order and process disruptions
  • Implement efficient personnel deployment planning
  • Ensure all projects comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Initiate sustainable process improvements
  • Foster customer satisfaction

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical or Industrial Engineering, along with several years of relevant experience in project management or execution, particularly in international projects related to substations
  • Familiarity with the offshore sector regarding quality and safety requirements
  • Certification as a Senior Project Manager / PMP is advantageous
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken; knowledge of German is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, strong customer focus, structured working style, and teamwork capabilities
  • Intercultural competence, goal-oriented approach, and assertiveness
  • Willingness to travel internationally for customer and construction site visits
