We are seeking a Project Manager to work on-site in Mannheim within our Offshore Wind division. This role requires extensive collaboration with Offshore Wind developers, T&D Utility clients, EPC Contractors, and local Hitachi Energy units globally.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for sustainable energy, a proactive demeanor, and the expertise to oversee, manage, and monitor significant customer-specific projects. You will also be responsible for promoting and positioning System Solutions and Service Solutions in the Offshore Wind sector.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Oversee major national and international offshore projects
  • Lead a multidisciplinary project team, ensuring task distribution aligns with project-specific requirements and policies
  • Assess customer requirements, clarify technical and commercial aspects of orders in collaboration with customers and the project team, and define project structure, organization, scope, and timeline
  • Conduct contract reviews and technical order clarifications with support from Sales and Engineering, ensuring close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  • Monitor and manage project progress utilizing Hitachi Energy's Policies, Best Practices, and Lessons Learned to ensure timely and budget-compliant project completion while maintaining high-quality standards
  • Organize and oversee engineering, assembly, and commissioning processes to achieve project objectives
  • Plan factory testing and commissioning, including system acceptance and handover at the customer’s site
  • Manage project financing, including invoicing, costs, cash flows, and key performance indicators
  • Implement risk management and claims management strategies to address order and process-related disruptions
  • Facilitate efficient personnel deployment planning
  • Ensure all projects adhere to health, safety, and environmental guidelines
  • Initiate sustainable process improvements
  • Enhance customer satisfaction
Your Background:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical or Industrial Engineering, with several years of relevant experience in project management or execution, particularly in international projects within the substation sector
  • Familiarity with offshore industry quality and safety requirements
  • Certification as a Senior Project Manager / PMP is advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills, strong customer focus, structured work style, and ability to collaborate effectively
  • Intercultural competence and a consistent drive to achieve set goals
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken, with proficiency in German preferred
  • Willingness to travel internationally for customer and construction site visits
