We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our Research & Development team based in Waldbronn, close to Karlsruhe. As an R&D Engineer, you will be part of a diverse team responsible for developing future laboratory instrumentation within the Agilent Diagnostics and Genomics Group (DGG).
Key Responsibilities- Perform mechanical design for automated electrophoresis instrumentation during development through product release, including creating drawings, BOMs, and working with suppliers on the design and purchase of parts.
- Actively participate in multi-functional project team meetings during product development, comprised of mechanical, electronics, firmware, software, applications, marketing, manufacturing, etc.
- Present technical concepts and designs to project teams during design reviews.
- Solve and analyze technical issues in depth to understand core problems and provide sound solutions.
- Support manufacturing if needed for improvement projects after products are released.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
- Proficient years of extensive work experience in Mechanical Engineering.
- Proficiency with 3D parametric CAD modeling software, preferably Siemens NX CAD.
- Experience in designing, building, and testing new products in an R&D environment applying relevant industry standards and engineering guidelines.
- Good understanding of common manufacturing processes as well as manufacturing methods and production-oriented design.
- Experience in designing optical systems would be an advantage.
- Self-starter in conceptualizing and designing novel products, component design, or concepts.
- Fluent German and good English communication skills.
